Thoughts on Blogging
As I think back about my online writing and my venturing into blogging, I look back and realize how far I have come in such a short while. Each step that I took was part of the learning process for me. I began my online writing on eHow in late July 2009 to share my thoughts and ideas about school, weight loss, marriage, and other areas. In August I began my first blog on WordPress.com basically to get the feel for blogging and to continue sharing my thoughts and ideas especially about a grace-based approach to lasting weight loss.
It wasn’t long before I decided I wanted to make my blogging worthwhile my monetizing it in some way. In order to monetize my blog I knew that I should use WordPress.org instead of WordPress.com. For some reason I had preconceived ideas about WordPress.org and was fearful of beginning there. However, once I took the leap and began, I found that my fears were not substantiated in any way.
I joined a local meet-up group for blogging. We have some knowledgeable individuals who have been willing to share their knowledge with us. I love to share the knowledge that has been shared with me. We all share our thoughts and ideas or information that we have read. I have been following the page rank of my blog since beginning this group. My blog has consistently moved up in its page rank on a regular basis. With over 200 million websites, I thought there was never a chance for my blog to be noticed in the online world. Knowing the number of websites is rather intimidating, however, you must persevere and keep pursuing your dream. With persistence and endurance, it can happen. My main blog is currently in the top 600,000.
The main focus of this blogging group is to monetize a blog. A couple individuals in the group shared the “Thirty Day Challenge“ with us. This challenge takes you step by step through the process. You will be amazed at the knowledge that will be shared during this challenge. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in monetizing their blog. Although I know I have a long way to go, I look back at how far I have already come and I know that achieving this task is also possible. With persistence and endurance it can be done.
Good luck in your blogging endeavors!
